This is just my personal observation since I have not talked with Jim about his decision although I did email him to try to get him to reconsider.

The BOD is under pressure to make numerous improvements in the club and convention. We have sent out a survey to all of this years dealers to get their opinions on what improvements could be made. A few years ago I noticed in the financial statement that we were bleeding money like crazy. That started the firestorm involving hundreds of posts and suggestions for improvements in the club finances. The former board made many money saving and income generating changes. And they worked to the poiont that we are back to at least running slightly in the black. Because of the pressure for future changes and Jims apparent ideas for next years convention the BOD wanted to be kept informed of what his plans were. This was not lack of faith in Jims ability but more that he does not know what other plans the board may be working on. We don't want to go back to where we were a few years ago. Somewhere in there a problem must have occurred and Jim made his decision.
