Unfortunately, for collectors who paid alot of money for these chips .... and if what Michael Haas has claimed is true .... those are the Playboy back-up chips in question that you've posted Steve. It's too bad that Mr. Hunter won't level with the chip collector community. If he has these chips in large quantity, or if he knows who has, he should admit the fact and we can all accept our losses. Hoards of once thought to be tough chips do turn up now and again.... that's a fact of collecting life.
However, if Hunter is simply playing head games with Mike Haas, as he has alluded, then he has done a great dis-service to the hobby by casting aspersions on what has been much sought after additions to the best A.C. chip collections and has unwittingly painted all Playboy chips with the same brush.
Similarly, a few years ago when quite a few boxes of Playboy roulettes began turning up all over the place, ALL Playboy roulette chips were viewed upon as being plentiful and treated alike as far as value goes. Some Playboy roulettes never turned up in large quantities as others .... but the now-tarnished mistaken perception became that all Playboy roulettes were common. Not so. Quite a few of the Playboy roulette series are extremely tough to find.... even at this late date.... but the damage has been done.
