a Board stated position and a past Board position at that. (Please correct me if I am wrong.) But if correct, my concern is as follows...
In the absence of an affirmation by the new Board of this policy (which is certainly NOT a requirement), I saw that 2 Board members openly stated that they did not like the policy. If that becomes 3 (which represents a majority) then the policy can suddenly change. To do away with the policy, in my opinion, is a big negative to the Club's endorsed embrace of ethical behavior and I am alarmed.
The only thing I have done is to bring the discussion to the Club's Message Board. If the new Board is in favor and supports the past policy position on this matter, perhaps it should be stated now and if it can't be stated now, then it certainly cannot hurt to make it a matter of discussion and record here on the Club's Message Board.
Again, I am alarmed because a specter of doubt has been raised by those in leadership roles. Please feel free to counteract it.
Thank nyou for asking.
Jim
