CCGTCC Election Results 2003

I was election chairman for several years early 2000's and once again in 2008.

2003 we had 2,431 members. 717 voted, 29.49% voted

The % that voted that year was a little more but not much, than voted this year.

The point is: 2/3's of our membership, does not care and has never cared.

The count could not be more secret if you want to make sure voters are members. Two envelopes would make no difference in the number of votes.

Only one member of the count team checks off names against members list.
He does not unfold the ballot.

All 3 together unfold the envelopes and count.

I always invited the canidates or their own nominee to watch the count. Some did, some did not.

Sounds like Bruce and Mary Ann are following the same rules.

Every member gets a magazine with ballots, convention forms, etc. Every year we see posts on both BB's.
"How do I register for the convention, poker tourney, etc?"
I always want to reply to these:
"Read your mag, dummy." But I don't.

The point is: People don't care nor read until it is something they "need."

Posts about the election counts come up every count year. How do we get more votes?

Anwser: A get out the "Vote Chairman." He could visit every member and help him fill out the ballot, give him a stamp, and mail it for him!
