We need to correct Doug Smith's statement on how the ballots are processed. The following message was posted on the Chipboard in early May in response to a dialog on this subject.

As Bruce and I have been Election Committee Co-Chairmen for five years, we feel we have earned the respect and trust of the Board of Directors to handle this important task with the utmost care, and our credibility is very important to us. The member name and number must be on the outside of the envelope so I can validate the ballot by insuring the voter is a current member of the CCGTCC. I am the only one that opens the envelopes on counting day. I verify that the number of ballots agrees with the number of names on the outside of the envelope. If not, I verify that the Associate Member voter is a current member of the CCGTCC. I hand the folded ballots to Bruce for stacking and counting. Therefore, no one knows how a particular member voted. In addition, candidates are invited to observe the counting process.
