Yes we did have a high percentage of returned ballots. My recollection was in the 90% range, but I may be wrong.
While I don't think the club should supply stamped envelopes because of the cost involved. I do think the voting process should be changed.
While I am not questioning anybodies integrity, and I do vote in every election I have heard from others why they don't vote. And one reason is the secrecy issue.
I propose as we did in AC the ballot is placed in a separate blank envelope and then placed inside a mailed envelope with a name, address and membership number on the outside. This is then checked off against a membership list. Then the blank envelope is placed in a box. After all the envelopes are opened, the ballots are then opened and counted.
I can't predict how much voter increase this will bring, but I believe it will bring in more voters. This cost nothing to the club, so why not try.
