I'm sure I will hear and maybe even get blasted for my 2 cents worth-but here is a true story of and election about 7-8 years ago for the AC Chapter-
Bob Touts, Barry Hampton and I were given the chore to run the election, we had numerous folks running for different positions that year. The 3 of us decided to mail ballots to all members with a return envelope to my PO Box with postage included on it. There was no address required on the envelope, we did ask for their membership # in case of anyone requesting a re-count so double #'s would not count. The 3 of us had our Club Pres verify that all envelopes were not tampered with, the 3 of us then counted and had results for our Pres to announce winners when doors were opened for the Club members and guests. We had not one complaint. We had a return[ as I emailed the other 2 today] of a high 70% to low 90 % of ballots come back in. The % figure is from the 3 of us memory. The 3 of us were given a lot of praise from our Club and the National BOD, but no one else kept this winning way of running the Election up.
I was vocal in this year's election that I would be voting for Jim Follis, and I did vote. I have work with Jim longer then the other 2 candidates, who I like both of them and I have nothing bad to say about either one. Because I was vocal may be the reason I received a lot of emails saying-I would like to vote for Jim but if----- sees that I did vote for him, because I have to put my name on the back of the envelope---like I said, it did not bother me, a few did post this before the election and I feel they didn't get a good answer. Their vote/votes should be private and confidential, and if someone cares to BLAST me for this have at it.
