It's a good time to ask that question. First, Playboy Atlantic City Backup chips, the less common of the AC chips are valued over $1000 each. A $25 backup chip was being sold on ebay by Mr Hunter. A collector/buyer, Mr Hass contacted him apparently trying to find out how many high end chips of this sort he, the seller had, because the collector was worried if too chips many get on the auction block the value of all will drop. The seller, tired of being pestered, made up a story of a source with 100's of AC backup chips back in TN. The collector panicked, sold his backup chips at a loss, and then posted a notice that there was a large supply of these chips out there.

the moral of the story;
1. Don't believe everything that you hear, these message boards are not edited and anybody can post anything.
2. Collect what you enjoy and can afford, investing is risky no matter what it is.
