It sounded to me like you wanted to make a separate committee to cull out the suggestions and submit to the BoD. I'm saying cut out the middleman (committee) and let individuals submit directly to the BoD. I don't see the need for a "Susong Memorial Committee". If I read that incorrectly, then my mistake.

I'm starting to sound like a grumpy old man (which I may very well be) but I have never liked the idea of a subcommittee standing between myself and the Board. I understand the necessity in instances where the BoD has many requests and ideas, but it just doesn't seem like the CCGTCC needs it. As we have seen in the past elections and requests for ideas that chippers have an apathy toward this sort of thing. If the BoD received 10 suggestions for the Susong Memorial I would be surprised.

If I am off base here and the BoD requests this action, then great. They are overworked and underpaid and if they want help, I will do whatever I can.

In the meantime, I have submitted my ideas for the Susong Award to the BoD. I have also submitted a separate suggestion for the Janice O'Neal Award - which I think is long overdue.
