Although I agree with the notion of memorializing Greg, I still don't see the rush. Why does something need to be done by next convention? I think we're all trying to shoehorn something in because we still feel the loss and this will somehow help fill the void. Are we saying, "Ok, Greg's not here, but his award (or tournament or banquet, etc) is?"
I personally don't like the idea of a self appointed committee gathering ideas and presenting their selected few to the BoD. We already have a group who handles these things in the Board of Directors. I think past experience has shown that the BoD will NOT be inundated with hundreds of ideas because most members will not submit anything. If this changes, then perhaps a BoD appointed committee would be necessary.
