To Members of the Board of Directors (and/or Club Legal Counsel):

I posed a question on The Chip Board, but thought it best to also post it here to get an official ruling from the Board of Directors:

In essence, from the language of the constitution it appears that I am currently eligible for Life Membership, even though there is a gap in membership from my 3 qualifying years to today.

The responses of both the previous and current Membership Officers state that because of the gap in membership, I would not currently qualify. That also was my understanding prior to today. However, this appears to be a case where the intent and/or common understanding is not adequately reflected in the language of the constitution (or there is other qualifying or clarifying language that I missed-- a distinct possibility). However, as this could potentially impact many other members beyond just me, I thought I would ask for an official ruling, so that it can be part of the record and dispel any confusion going forward.
