I must say I was certainly shocked and saddened to see where the club has found itself in regards to our convention situation. The room rates were certainly as clear as a neon sign. In an organization where the membership is so homogenious on so many things, it's always amazed me that convention-wise, a bunch of folks JUST DON'T GET IT!!! Nonsupport and nonparticipation has now got us balancing on the head of a pin. In spite of endless explainations, stick figures, circles and arrows, the same petty and selfish gripes and whines show up every year that I've been R-4661. Frankly, if you've made the complaint that the Riviera convention room rates are too high, then you must just be stupid. You can't stiff the club on this room deal and expect things to somehow be better the next year. Go ahead, be real smart and stay at another hotel this year. Sounds like a good way to insure that next year we'll all be staying... home.
